The accidental designer
I first leant to crochet when I was still in school, at a camp when I was eleven years old. I doodled around with various projects but really took up my hooks again with a vengeance when I was pregnant with my first son. I loved making things for babies and kids but found it hard to find patterns I liked, especially for boys. And so started my business designing patterns which appealed not only to me but also my friends and family. A lot of my patterns are designed with the novice in mind, often using my own memories of the things I found frustrating about commercial patterns. I also include all the same information you would expect of a professional pattern, to ensure my customers are setup for success.
Over the last couple of years I have returned to my "real job" full-time, but my passion for crochet, knitting and design is still strong. My focus is now shifting more to women's wear, as I love wearing a cozy knitting cardigan or shrug and love the freedom of being able to choose the exact colors, designs and finishes. My biggest challenge is trying not to get frustrated by the never ending ideas that pop into my head and trying to stay focused to finish current projects before starting something fresh!
I hope you enjoy visiting my shop.
