I emailed etsy support 6 days ago about reactivating an account and i've heard nothing.I then emailed them again and nothing... I really want to get that account back, in the mean time i have product waiting to be listed and etsy could be collecting their fees. I tried calling the headquarters in Brooklyn but they are not accepting calls.Huh???? Any suggestions on how to take care of this?

I'd try contacting whichever admin seems to be active in the forums at a given time. Sometimes waiting for emails back from support can be, well, a waiting game.

What do you mean by reactivating an account?

just wondering too..is it an account you've closed?
i think you would have to open another one rather than have a closed one reactivated??

Not sure, but you may get quicker response from the new "Contact Support" form linked in the Help section...

Thanx for the quick responses. I had opened another account and foolishly closed it ( too quickly i might add ) I've since decided to reactivate it. Once you close an account only etsy can reactivate it. I want to use the same name of the account i closed and i can't use it or sign in until they reactivate. So if you are thinking of closing an account be very sure that's what you want to do. If you aren't sure it doesn't hurt to just let it sit idle until you make up your mind. Once again thanx for the suggestions. I'm sure i'll get an answer eventually! Linda

so I was reading in the forums the other day where someone had closed their account six months previously and etsy re opened it for them (for which they were very grateful) sorry I don't know who they contacted though

Thank you all for taking the time to address this issue. The lovely Amber at support took care of it.I quess they're swamped at support and you just have to wait 'til they get to you....That's why i said be absolutely sure when you close an account that you are sure because it will take time to reactivate it plus they are cautious and rightly so to make sure for security reasons that it is the proper owner requesting the reactivation....And yes i'm grateful they reactivated for me because i really didn't want to lose that particular business name! Thank you etsy and thank you fellow etsians! As always it's a pleasurable learning experience getting all the input! Linda

I too am having this problem, never actually closed the account just stopped listing items for it. Have tried logging in and says deactivated, and tried re-registering and said shop name already taken. Sooooo, we'll see how long it takes Etsy to get back to me.

The sooner the better for reactivating with the holidays coming up. Sounds like it might take a long time for support to get back to you
