Bells have long been associated with spirituality all over the world being employed to hang on or around doorways to protect the homes inhabitants from malevolent spirits lurking around waiting to slip inside. Years ago, when visiting a home, a visitor would ring bells hanging outside the home to drive the spirits away then pass inside – which is the likely origin of the present day doorbell!

Nowadays we can use these bells not only for spiritual protection, but they can also serve more mundane purposes as well, such as alerting when a door has been opened, when a shop has as a visitor, as wind chimes or as a medium for your pet to say "bathroom time please"!

*N•O•T•E* - PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF RING SIZES LISTED BELOW:

-Bells are made with your choice of a 2 in. brass ring or a 1.5 in. antiqued brass ring. If these sizes do not fit your specific door knobs, a ribbon can be looped around the ring to hang.

-Charms and bells are hung with hemp twine, cotton cord, black lace or black ribbon.

-Copper bells will either be conical or barrel depending on what I have in stock.

Hi Erinn - I notate the sizes for all rings in my listing photos so you will have a definitive idea of the size you will be purchasing which allows you to take those measurements and compare them to your own door handle. Looping a ribbon around the ring is a quick work around to be able to attach to your door.🙂
