People in Asia, Africa, and Latin America widely use ollas to water plants. As a result, the usage of ollas can reduce water consumption in the garden by about 50%.
The pot is without a glaze, which retains its porosity. As a result, water can easily penetrate through its walls. The plant roots take up as much water as they need.
A broken or unnecessary pot is biodegradable; you can also smash it and use it as planter drainage.
HOW TO USE OLLAS?
All you have to do is "plant" your olla in the ground together with the plant. Fill the olla up with water. Please kindly check the item pictures to find an infographic with instructions for use. You can also watch the short tutorial: www.bit.ly/olla_watering_pots
You can use them both in the garden and your house. Olla is also a good solution for people who do not have time to water indoor plants or forgetful ones.
Each olla consists of an unglazed pot and a colorfully decorated lid.

I have tested ollas in my garden, growing tomatoes, lettuce, herbs, and roses. Watering pots did a good job even in the scorching summer months.

I shaped the pot with my hands and fired it in the gas-fired kiln. I made the lid in the Raku technique (originally used in Japanese pottery). I decorated the top with glazes in shades of beige, white with blue smear, especially mixed just for this particular item, and I fired it again at a temperature around 1000 degrees Celsius (1832 F). Afterward, I removed it red-hot and placed it into containers with sawdust. The lid was then tempered in cold water and cleaned with an abrasive to remove all soot and ash residues.

Packing and shipment
I have experience in packing works of art (I dealt with this professionally for many years), and I make every effort to ensure that the work you buy reaches you safely. I post items within 1-3 days, but I do not influence the operation of the post office in Poland and your country.

The Raku firing process results in unique patterns and textures, different every time. Please remember that I made items by hand and fire in the live fire, and there might be variations in form and glaze. The lighting of the item also affects how the colors will appear. Also, please remember that every computer monitor displays color differently, so what you see on your screen could vary slightly from the item you receive.
