The wood we used to make this Montessori Interlocking wooden discs is from Romania and it's FSC Certified, which means that when you buy it you "are helping to ensure our forests are alive for generations to come" (the wood comes from a well managed forest).

After the age of 6 months, the child begins to examine objects and transfer them from one hand to the other. This transfer from one hand to another helps them in their development of both cerebral hemispheres.

Once the baby is mobile the interlocking discs can be used as a rolling toy for they are not rolling too far out of baby's reach.
