This fake hornet/wasp nest is made to hang outdoors on porches, decks, arbors, sheds, etc. to deter carpenter bees from boring holes in your wooden structures. Sustainable and eco-friendly, as they can be used year after year.

HOW IT WORKS: Simply hang this decoy where you see a wasp or carpenter bees boring holes into your wooden structure. In a few days, the bees leave the area. My understanding is that bees are anti-social creatures. When they see a nest, these will not try to inhabit where another family of bees are already living.

This decoy is made of light brown acrylic yarn and is stuffed with poly fiber fill inside of a recycled plastic shopping bag so it will remain weather resistant and not droop in the rain. Each decoy is made individually and colors may vary, although I try to remain true to the brown color pictured.

It is approximately 12 x 9” diameter and narrows down to about 5” diameter. All sizes are approximate. A small loop is sewn into the top of the nest for easy hanging.

I am bad at reading full descriptions so I was unaware the item was stuffed so perfectly to help it maintain it's shape. I have it hanging off my back patio area where we saw wasps poking about last year. I have been abusing the poor nest it's been in rain and high winds and it still looks amazing and has maintained it's shape. It came very well packaged.
