I was always interested in fashion and art and I created things with my hands since I was a child. It all started at 13, when I suddenly decided that I want to make my own clothes. I wouldn't have been able to do this without my beloved grandmother, who was as excited as I was for my little project and was willing to help me. She had an old, huge Singer sewing machine in a corner of the living room since I can remember and I was always fascinated to see her work on it. I was so happy that it was finally my turn to use it! My grandma is not here anymore, but the machine still exists in my parents' house, as a legacy.

My creative story continued in university, when I created and sold my own earrings to make some extra money. I didn't stop there and I continued with being a beauty blogger and a makeup artist in my home country, Romania, for more than 10 years.

Since then, during the pandemic, I have moved to France to follow the love of my life to his home country. I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, that made me fall in love with the baby universe. And just like that, the desire to create again came back to me, like it always does! I wanted to create something that represents me, something where I can choose exactly the colors and the designs that I love. Something eco responsible and unique. Something that would make other mothers as happy as I was when I created things for my baby.

Avrilie comes from the combination of the words "avril", in french, and "aprilie" in romanian. It made all the sense in the world to me that my brand would be called like this. This is how Avrilie was born. In april, when my son was born and when all my life changed for the better.
