A NOTE ABOUT MY DESIGN FILES:
All my files are my own. None are traced. (I have a degree in Ad Design from The Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale and worked for a Tribune newspaper for 10 years.)
When designing I try to keep in mind that these designs will be used in different sizes and adjust accordingly. I think about how I would personally cut them for ease of use and flexibility. This is why you might find that in some designs - smaller detailed pieces like eye highlights or mouths are layered one on top of each other vs. knocked out. (already subtracted from each other to fit together like a puzzle). Sometimes I even include 2 files to give you the option of already having pieces knocked out vs. all together if I feel both might be of use.
Because I try to keep the flexibility of my designs in mind, you might find that each design is set up a bit differently, but all will cut smoothly and fit together with as much flexibility and precision as possible.
If you want to use the design (of an ornament etc) larger where it has not been knocked out/subtracted, you can choose to change that yourself in your software by using the "subtract all" feature (or similar feature depending on the software you are using).
I also try to group pieces in a way that would save you paper and vinyl without having to take that whole one grouping of color apart. (by releasing compound path). For instance, sometimes I might have 2 groups of the same color (depending on how spread out those same colors are in the design), vs. having all the same color be one large group (compound path). Not only will this allow you to group colors in one section of your mat and save vinyl/paper, it adds flexibility in changing the colors of pieces you might want to change that would otherwise be one color/ piece (compound path.)

**PLEASE NOTE: that as I try to answer any messages as quickly as possible, I can not always respond immediately over a weekend. This will result in a 2 day delay until Monday. My family time is important to me and a priority, so I choose to not commit to checking my phone non stop over the weekend as this is their time. Thank you for your understanding :-)
Happy Crafting!
