Salut les gars, je m’appelle Shawn Moran et je suis un photographe de la région de Boston! D’aussi loin que je me souvienne, j’ai adoré prendre des photos. En grandissant, j’adorais utiliser ces appareils photo jetables que vous achetiez à la pharmacie, et même si la qualité de l’image était assez terrible, c’était toujours très amusant!
Il y a quelques années, j’ai déménagé à Boston où je suis allé à l’université du Massachusetts à Boston. Pouvoir vivre en ville et explorer sa beauté à ma guise est ce qui m’a inspiré à prendre mes photos de mon appareil photo de téléphone portable à un appareil photo reflex numérique.
J’aime pouvoir capturer une scène qui ne se reproduira littéralement plus jamais. Pensez-y. Chaque fois que vous prenez une photo, l’image que vous capturez dans votre appareil photo ne peut jamais être recréée. Qu’il s’agisse d’une voiture qui roule sur une autoroute ou de quelque chose d’aussi simple qu’un certain motif de nuage, cette photo que vous venez de prendre, cette scène que vous venez de capturer est la vôtre pour toujours, elle vous appartient.
Alors pourquoi imprimer des photos ? Eh bien, les impressions papier sont différentes d’une simple image sur un écran. Vous le faites parce que vous aimez son apparence, ou parce que cela vous rappelle un endroit qui a une certaine signification pour vous. Il y a juste un sentiment différent à une photo imprimée sur papier que celui d’une photo sur un écran que vous passerez probablement sans jamais vraiment vous en rendre compte. Nous imprimons des photos parce que nous voulons afficher un moment dans le temps que nous ne retrouverons jamais, nous le faisons parce que nous voulons nous sentir bien dans quelque chose, et surtout nous le faisons parce que les photos signifient quelque chose pour nous, pour nous tous, que nous le sachions ou non.

Hey guys, my name is Shawn Moran and I am a photographer from the Boston Area! For as long as I can remember I have loved taking pictures. Growing up I loved using those disposable cameras that you would buy at the pharmacy, and even though the image quality was pretty terrible it still was a lot of fun!
A few years back I moved to Boston where I went to college at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Being able to live in the city and explore its beauty at my leisure truly is what has inspired me take my photography from my cell phone camera to a DSLR camera.
I love being able to capture a scene that will quite literally never happen again. Think about that. Every time you take a picture the image that you capture in your camera can never be recreated. Whether it be a car driving down a highway or something as simple as a certain cloud pattern, that photo that you just took, that scene that you just captured is yours forever, it belongs to you.
So why print photos? Well, paper prints are different than just a picture on a screen. You do it because you love how it looks, or because it reminds you of a place that has a certain meaning to you. There’s just a different feeling to a photo printed onto paper than to that of a photo on a screen that you’ll probably swipe past without really ever noticing. We print photos because we want to display a moment in time that we will never get back, we do it because we want to feel good about something, and most importantly we do it because photos mean something to us, all of us, whether we know that or not.
