About True Good Craft
At True Good Craft, every stitch, weld, and detail is guided by one principle: build it right or don’t build it at all.
My name is Jamie Whelan, and I’ve spent the last 12 years serving as a Materials Technician in the Canadian Armed Forces. That means I’ve worked in extreme conditions, fixing what’s broken and fabricating what’s needed, often with limited tools, limited time, and zero margin for failure. That mindset comes with me into everything I make.
This shop is where military precision meets hands-on craftsmanship.
From rugged stuff sacks to forged copper roses, every item is designed to serve, endure, and mean something. I work with real materials, leather, canvas, copper, steel, and I build for real life: gear you can use, gifts that last, and craft that tells a story.
This isn’t mass production. It’s not outsourced or templated. It’s me, in my workshop, making sure every piece earns its place.
Thanks for supporting handmade. And thanks for supporting a veteran-run, Canadian small business.
