It started with a piece of marble.

Not the polished kind you see in hotel lobbies, but a rough, unremarkable-looking slab I found at a stonemason's yard. When I turned it over in my hands, I saw the veins—delicate grey lines running through the white stone like frozen smoke. I learned later that those veins were formed over millions of years, a record of the earth shifting and settling long before humans ever walked on it.

I took that slab home. I shaped it, sanded it, polished it by hand for hours. What emerged was a tray—simple, heavy, cool to the touch. It held my keys and loose change. But it also held my attention. Every time I looked at it, I remembered that it was ancient. That it had waited in the dark for me to find it.

That's how Trueround began.

**The Marble**
All our marble trays are cut from natural stone sourced from quarries in southern Europe and Asia. We never use resin or engineered stone. What you see is what the earth made. Each tray is hand-polished to a smooth, eggshell finish that feels soft to the touch but is durable enough for daily use. The veining on every piece is unique—you will never receive the same tray as anyone else.

**The Porcelain**
Our Jingdezhen cups come from a single workshop in the city that gave the world porcelain. Jingdezhen's kilns have been firing since the Song Dynasty, and the craftsmen we work with are part of an unbroken lineage of ceramic mastery. Each cup is wheel-thrown or hand-built, then glazed in small batches. The slight variations in shape and glaze are intentional—they are the signature of a human maker, not a machine.

**Why We Do This**
We live in a world of identical things. The same phone. The same furniture. The same white coffee mug on a thousand desks.

We think there's another way.

An object with history—geological or cultural—changes the way you experience a room. It slows you down. It makes you notice.
