Inspired by the beauty in tiny mishaps and searching for a kind of pretty you haven't seen before 'Tiny Mishaps' combines the traditional, the contemporary and often the broken to create new things that often command more space space than they take up.
The focus is portable intrigue through hanging chandelier like sculptures but you will also find a showcase of fully portable works including crowns, tree toppers, prints, jewelry objects, wire sculpture and more. Nearly everything you see listed is the actual item you receive- each sculpture, cake topper, and tree topper is unique. I make custom pieces as well as my ready to ship items. Wire work. My wire sculptures begin as a spool of wire and are made in as continuous a piece of wire as is feasible. Many are a single piece, angels are just two. Tree toppers are often a single piece but can be many. I make customs tree toppers, sculptures, cake toppers, and installations as well. I've been making them all for over a decade.
Hanging Sculpture. TinyMishaps also offers a unique array of hanging sculpture made primarily of a variety of papers using a simple pair of safety scissors and artist prints though some include playing cards and photographs. Many fully rotate while others hang on stationary platforms and several resemble tiered chandeliers. Their airy and intriguing appearance is constantly mesmerizing and you will see new things in them every time you pass. These affectionately named 'paper hangy things' are hard to describe. I've said it's like having a miniature thematic art show that's elegantly erupted from a blender :). They command space without filling it and harken to the fragmentation of time. These these began as installations (set up specifically for a given space like a room or stair well), but now include smaller shippable pieces, single strand works, and platforms.
