This tutorial/pattern follows along the detailed construction of bean bag stuffed Garden Gnome plush dolls. A great decoration for parties or around the home displayed individually or in groups, in a cage or on a holiday tree. Or, they can be used in your own gnome toss game.
These tan or brown gnomes are approximately 8-9 inches tall from head to toes . Optional pattern and instructions for making with/out bean bag or acrylic eyes. The step-by-step instructions and a multitude of progress pictures should help you along the entire construction process of creating these adorable creatures.
What you will need to make the doll:
• A SEWING Machine
• Pattern Printout or Photocopy
• Pins
• Scissors
• Fabric with matching Thread
• Stuffing
• Acrylic Safety Eyes (optional)
For Bean Bag:
• Scrap fabric
• Filler (beans, corn, pellets)
(See the Supplies List in the last image for more details.)
Though this tutorial is an intermediate to advanced project, I have tried to write it thoroughly enough for all skill levels. Some guidance may be necessary due to the small size. (If in doubt of your abilities, I recommend trying Ghillie's poppet tutorial first, which this pattern was loosely adapted from.) The size of these dolls and the added details will make it more difficult. However, many of the techniques learned in this tutorial can be applied to other doll projects such as similar magical creatures from the magical wizarding world like pixies, house elves, or fairies.
