Ply split braiding tutorial eyes chevron pattern (English & Dutch).
Make your own ply splitted strap for your crocheted Mochila bag! This technique is also used by the makers of the original Wayuu Mochila bags. But of course you can use the tutorial also for something different then a strap for a Mochila bag. Make the strap much shorter and you can make for example a nice bracelet from it!
You recieve a PDF file (both in English and Dutch) of 25 pages where all steps are described in detail and are extensive illustrated with photo's (a sneek peek you kan find above at the photo's). Examples of what is described in the PDF file:
- supplies
- a short explanation how to make your own ply split cords
- an extensive explanation how to make the ply splitted strap with the eyes-chevron pattern
- how to attach the strap to a Mochila bag
You can buy the ply split cords ready made. I've made the cords by myself from (cotton) yarn suitable for crochet needle 2-3 mm (US 0 - 3, UK/Canada 14 - 11). For example: Phildar Phil coton 3, Lana Grossa Cotone, SMC Catania, By Claire No. 1, Scheepjes Larra or Pingouin Esterel).
In total, you will need about 100 gram of yarn.
Of couse you could also choose other colors then I have used. Would you like a less colourfull strap? Choose 5 different shades of one color, for example different shads of black/grey, brown/creme or blue.
When you order the tutorial, the PDF is immediately available through Etsy (after confirmation of your payment).
Have a lot of ply split fun!
