SIZING INFO
(NOTE: If you have ordered from us in the past, please note we have changed from asking for Pant Size to asking for Belt Size. The Belt Size on our belts is the number stamped on the back of your belt.)
The best way to get a good fitting belt is to measure a belt that fits you well. You will want to measure from the fold of leather at the buckle to hole that fits you best (see listing photos for a graphic to help with this measurement). This number will be your Belt Size. The Belt Size will become the length from the fold of leather at the buckle to the center hole for your new belt. If you are an odd size, you will either need to size up or size down. Please ask if you have questions.
These belts are designed to have very little overhang. For the 1.25" and 1.5" widths, there are approximately 5.75 inches between the center hole and the end of the belt. For the 1" width, there are approximately 5.5 inches between the center hole and the end of the belt. So they wear as a belt should - without half the belt length overlapping your waist.

ABOUT THE CRAFTSMAN HIMSELF:
Joe Burkholder is a 3rd generation Amish leather worker, who owns and operates Joe's Harness Shop in Ethel, Missouri. He is experienced in the fabrication of a wide range of leather products, from belts and holsters, to chaps, to harness and tack. Joe learned the trade from his father, who learned it from Joe's grandfather. He is committed to quality materials, and quality workmanship. All of his work is backed by his personal guarantee. If the work is faulty, Joe refuses to sell it. Each product is stamped with his own trademark. Joe is currently teaching the trade to his own sons.

ABOUT OUR LEATHER SELECTION PROCESS:
Many belt makers order strips of machine-cut leather to save time and effort. This is NOT how Joe begins his work. He starts with sheets of high quality English bridle leather from the Wickett and Craig tannery in Pennsylvania, and the Hermann Oak Leather tannery in St. Louis. Joe then cuts his own belt strips by hand, which enables him to avoid the inevitable blemishes and weak points in the leather sheets. These blemishes and weak points are NOT avoided in the machine-cutting process. Thus, Joe's practice of selecting and cutting each belt strip with his own hand produces a belt superior to other handcrafted leather belts which originate from machine-cut strips. This hand-selection process is crucial.

ABOUT OUR CRAFTING PROCESS:
Simply put, everything Joe does is done by hand. From strip cutting, to edge rubbing and finishing, to dye application on the edges, to hole punching. It is done by Joe. And it is done by hand.

ABOUT OUR 100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEE:
If Joe thinks a product is faulty, then Joe doesn't sell it. He places his "Joe's Harness Shop" stamp of approval on each belt. This means quality, and Joe is willing to back it up. If you are not satisfied with the product, notify us within 7 days of reception, and we will arrange to have it returned. Your money will be refunded upon our receiving the belt. However, you will be responsible for all shipping costs and a $4 restocking fee will apply.
If you order the wrong length (please see our SIZING INFO above), we will gladly exchange your belt for a belt with the correct length - provided you return your belt in its original condition. You will be responsible for all shipping costs.
Note that this is a unique, individually hand-crafted and hand-dyed belt. Each belt will vary slightly with small "imperfections" that will arise. That is what makes the product unique. The integrity of the leather, however, will never be compromised. This is a quality belt that will last!
