My shop began as a way to try to sell some small quilts and other handmade items that I was making in my spare time while working as a part-time college instructor. But then in 2013, Missouri Star Quilt Company held their second Iron Quilter competition. I ordered the charm pack of fabric that was to be used in the competition, and I made it into a little quilt. I didn't win the competition, but I showed the quilt to my local quilt shop owner and she really fell in love with the pattern. She suggested that I should write up the directions and sell the pattern. After much prodding by one of the store employees (Cyndi), the Squares for Cyndi pattern was born. In addition to selling the pattern at my local quilt shop, I decided to try selling them here on Etsy. As I've written more patterns, I've added them to my inventory.

My greatest joy in quilt making is experimentation and challenges. I often have ideas for designs and I enjoy seeing those designs come together in fabric. Sometimes I'm happy with how they turn out and sometimes it is a learning experience. But I feel that every quilt is a labor of love.

What you'll find in my shop are patterns I designed and the outcomes of my quilting experiments. I don't like the idea of quilts sitting around in boxes unused. I think that any and every quilt has someone out there who will love it. My hope is that my shop can help to unite my quilted creations with someone who will love them. And that other quilters will get joy out of making their own quilts from the designs that I dreamed up.
