Frequently asked questions

What file is better JPEG or PDF?

I always recommend customers order PDF's. PDF's hold the quality of the work better. However, if you plan on printing with an online site, most of them require JPEG's. Also if you plan on printing on photo paper, then JPEG's are good to use.

What are these marks and color boxes on my PDF?

The color boxes and crop marks are called printer marks. They are guides to help assist the printer in where to cut out the product. They will not appear on your final product.

What kind of cardstock should I use?

If you plan on printing with cardstock, I would choose one that is at least 100lbs or more. I personally like 130lb cardstock, it looks and feels professional.

As far as the finishing goes, matte or glossy, it really is a personal preference. If the piece you are printing has lots of colors, it may look good to get a glossy finish to really make those colors pop. But like I said, it's a personal choice.
