Ex Games Workshop and Special Effects creator now making models for you.
My main rule is to make the things I really want myself, I will be making things inspired by books films, but I've a deep and dark imagination that I'm going to be delving into soon for all manner of designs.
It's taken a while to get all the processes into place, but the models are a mix of 3D printed pieces, green stuff modelling putty and any other bits that fit and look right. I spend a long time drawing the designs, from these plans, I build 3D models on the computer, to get an idea of how the parts look together, but that's not the end of the modelling process, just the start.
I take each piece and detail it in a 3D sculpting program, break it down further to work as a 3D print, then when I have the 3D model in my hand I add more detail by hand, using skills learned while working at the Games Workshop design studio. When every part is finished and I'm happy with the fit and overall look, I make bubble free moulds using a vacuum chamber and then produce the final model in high quality Polyurethane resin with a Pressure casting system that gives the best possible detail, I know that without it the 800 rivets on the Cavorite Sphere would not cast at all.
It's a been a lot of work and a huge learning experience, but I'm really proud of the models. I really hope you get a lot of enjoyment painting, displaying or using them in war games and roleplaying games. I hope the designs inspire new stories and when you finish your painting, I'd love to see photo's and put the best on my website.
