Welcome to Ripping Yarns!
Hello, we're Ripping Yarns, and we're all about helping you achieve your knitting and crochet projects, anyway we can.
Our journey began in 2012 when Angela decided to take her knitting passion and turn it into a business. Taking on a small shop in Saltburn-by-the-Sea, she quickly filled the need for a local yarn store and built a community of fellow knitters and crocheters in the area. With the help of her sister Sheila, who worked in the Saltburn shop, and granddaughter Olivia as a Saturday girl, Angela grew the business and moved to bigger premises in Saltburn 4 years later. Since then, the shop has relocated to Stokesley, where we have a dedicated workshop space. Granddaughter Matilda is now the Saturday girl, and daughter Sophie is on board too. We have 2 members of staff too - Crochet Queen Kaye and Knitter Extraordinaire Sue, who run the groups and workshops. We've been on a mission to supply beautiful wool and yarn, alongside teaching, for 14 years, helping people discover the craft, or progress to their next level.
We're proud to offer:
● Wool and Yarn, of exceptional quality and in beautiful colours
● Patterns and books
● Accessories and notions for all your projects
● Planners and trackers to organise your WIPs
Our Values:
We're all about:
● Helping you find a craft you love, and giving you the confidence to do it
● Making our own garments that are more sustainable
● Adding some colour to the world
