This necklace features an antique mother of pearl button framed by an embossed ornate brass ox piece. Many pearl buttons made during this time period were made from clam or mussel shells from the Mississippi River. Muscatine, Iowa, has a fantastic Pearl Button Museum detailing the history of these wonderful buttons.
