--Our Horizontal Urn has been upgraded in 2026 and is constructed from 3/4" thick hardwood. The urn now includes a baseand several hardwood options. This is a VERY substantial urn.--

◼ SIZE/DIMENSIONS◼
▪️ Exterior - 10" Length x 8.5" Height x 6.25" Depth
--The base of the urn is 11.25 " Length and 7.25" Depth for purposes of fitting into a niche
▪️Capacity = 260 cubic inches of ash which equates into about 260 pounds in living weight. This is considered Extra Large Adult Urn Sizing.
▪️ This urn fits a bag of ashes or the black plastic box which measures 8.5" Height x 6.5" Width x 4.5" Depth given by many Funeral Homes. We do recommend consulting with your Crematory or Funeral Home with sizing or black box questions.

◼ ABOUT THE WOOD ◼
The Cedar Valley Horizontal Urn is offered in 4 Types of Hardwood:
▪️Eastern Aromatic Cedar - clear finish over wood (red/brown/blonde pattern)
▪️Walnut - clear finish over wood (dark brown shade)
▪️Sapele - clear finish over wood (medium pecan shade)
▪️Cherry - clear finish over wood (light blonde shade)
All hardwood is sprayed with a clear lacquer finish. The colors described above are the actual wood color and grain and aren't stained. The wood used to construct this urn is 3/4" solid wood (not a veneer). The seamless edge construction is created through an interlocking miter joint construction process. The coved top and detailed base add a timeless appeal. All of our wood products are handcrafted by our Team in Euless, Texas and are meant to hold the test of time. This urn is not imported or mass manufactured.


◼ PERSONALIZATION ◼
▪️We use high quality laser engraving to personalize our products. This means the text is burned into the wood.
▪️Urn is engraved on the Front
▪️Choose from the image options shown in the photo gallery. The image you choose will be placed where your see the motorcycle in the main photo and will be sized similarly.
▪️Your personalization will be engraved in the Font Shown
▪️The Layout Shown is what we'll engrave including: Name, Dates and your choice of up to 2 Lines of Text below the image
▪️Keep in mind that there is only so much engraving space before the text becomes too small

◼ ABOUT CUSTOM IMAGE URNS ◼
▪️The quality of the image you send us will be the quality it engraves on the urn. Low resolution images and screenshots are fuzzy and may engrave with jagged edges. No photographs or color images, please.
▪️After your checkout, please send your black/white image (jpeg or png format) to us through Etsy Messages. Please reference the order name.
▪️Any delay in sending the image could result in cancellation or extended ship times as Etsy allows us a short time window to process your order.

◼ SHIPPING ◼
▪️FREE SHIPPING to the Continental U.S.
▪️When your package leaves our shop, you will get a Shipping Notification from Etsy. Your shipping info. is available in your "Purchases" screen in the Etsy app. If you checkout as a "Guest" you may not receive notification and tracking.
▪️We ship UPS Ground Advantage which is 2-5 business days.

▪️Your package is packed and wrapped with strict quality standards.

◼ CARE AND USE◼
▪️ Your urn should not be stored in direct sunlight, Heat, humidity and extreme cold are not good for the wood and can contribute to premature wear and warping of the wood.
▪️There are 4 screws on the base of the urn. Please use a #2 Phillips screwdriver to remove the base. Insert the black box or plastic bag of ashes. Replace the base, insert the 4 screws and tighten. Please avoid overtightening the screws.

▪️All returns must be packed securely in original packaging and box to prevent damage of item you are returning.

▪️ ABOUT CEDAR ▪️
Cedar is a very "busy" and patterned wood and is NOT a solid color. If you purchase the cedar urn option, the wood will have a lot of personality and it will be a combination of red, brown, maroon and blonde. You will see blonde dashes, freckles, patterns of lines, rings within the wood. We DO NOT stain our wood, so what you're seeing is the wood with clear lacquer coat finish on the exterior. If you see a blonde dash, we didn't miss staining a spot. :) Our listing photos are only a representation of what you may receive.
▪️KNOTS▪️
There is no way we can guarantee that the top or front of your box is completely knot free. We know your engraving is a focal point of your box, so we don't engrave through knots. There could be a knot adjacent, above or below your engraving, however. Knots most often will have what appears to be a line through them, an arc around them or a raised ridge. This is very common and is called "checking." It doesn't pose a structural issue to the box. Knots will pretty much always "check" which indicates expansion and contraction of the wood. Knots on the inside of boxes will typically have wider grooves or rough patches.
▪️COLOR ▪️
When you receive your Cedar Valley box it will be a pink-red shade which means the wood is brand new. Your box will start changing color almost immediately and will become "aged" within a short amount of time. It will continue to age and turn a mellow brown/honey shade. We only sell new cedar as our inventory is continually selling and not aging on the shelf. Please be aware that the lighting on your computer, phone and handheld device may not accurately represent the color of the box.

▪️THE AGING PROCESS▪️
One thing to note is that boxes with a lot of pattern, color contrast and knots tend to be the most beautiful over time. A box that is aged looks completely different than one that is new/bright red.
Unfortunately, we cannot take requests for the color or grain structure or pattern of the wood. Each box we ship will be beautiful and one-of-a-kind, we promise!
