5 out of 5 starsGreat germination, you just have to be very patient. It took two and a half months to get seedlings from seed. I thought they were not going to grow. Then they all popped up! The look super vigorous and healthy. Just be patient.
Thank you Kim~ I am very happy to know that you had success growing these seeds. It sounds like your patience paid off! Happy Spring Gardening~ Aloha, Tamara MauiSeeds.com
The seeds were well packaged and wrapped in a moist paper towel. Unfortunately, after a few weeks they got moldy. :( Sorry I couldn't get them to germinate. However, it was nice to receive a gift of a few Butterfly pea seeds.
Thank you Phyllis~the Thimbleberry seeds need a cold environment to germinate. This berry grows wild in the upper elevations here on Maui (where it's a lot cooler than closer to sea level). The wet packed seeds can always be replaced in new damp paper toweling. Hydrogen peroxide is also great to 'lift' any film or mold trying to develop on your seeds. Thanks again and better luck next time~ Aloha, Tamara MauiSeeds.com
I still need to go through the stratification process with the seed. This will be something new for me! I’m looking forward to learning the process. Sincerely & Thanks!!!
