We create each piece with care and dedication, using materials like wood, brass, sterling silver, silver-plated metals, and macramé to bring you unique and beautiful jewelry. To ensure your jewelry remains in excellent condition, it's essential to follow proper care guidelines for each material, as exposure to moisture, chemicals, or improper storage can affect its longevity and appearance. Please remember, the buyer is responsible for maintaining their jewelry and following the recommended care instructions. With the right care, your jewelry will continue to shine and inspire for years to come!

What’s the best way to care for brass jewelry?

Brass can develop a natural patina over time, which gives it a vintage look but can be removed if you prefer a shiny finish. To keep brass looking new, avoid exposing it to moisture, oils, or chemicals. If it begins to tarnish, you can polish it with a soft cloth and a small amount of lemon juice or a brass cleaner, then rinse with water and dry thoroughly. Storing brass jewelry in an airtight bag when not in use can help prevent tarnishing.

How should I care for silver-plated jewelry?

Silver-plated jewelry is more delicate than solid silver and requires gentle care to maintain its plating. Avoid water, chemicals, and lotions, as these can cause the silver layer to wear away. Clean it carefully with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using silver polish or abrasive materials, as these can strip the silver plating. To prevent tarnishing, store it in an airtight bag away from direct sunlight.

How do I care for sterling silver jewelry?

Sterling silver can tarnish when exposed to air, moisture, and certain chemicals. To keep it looking its best, avoid wearing it in water (especially chlorinated or saltwater) and keep it away from lotions, perfumes, and other chemicals. If tarnishing occurs, polish it gently with a soft cloth or a silver polishing cloth. When not wearing, store it in an airtight bag to minimize tarnishing.

What are the care instructions for macramé jewelry?

Macramé jewelry is made from natural fibers and should be kept dry. Avoid water, oils, or lotions, as these can weaken the fibers or cause discoloration. If your macramé jewelry becomes dusty, gently brush it with a soft, dry toothbrush to remove any particles. To keep the fibers looking fresh, store macramé pieces flat or hanging to prevent tangling or misshaping.

Can I wear my jewelry in the shower or while swimming?

It's generally recommended to remove all jewelry before showering, swimming, or exercising, as exposure to water, sweat, and chemicals can damage or tarnish the materials. Sterling silver, brass, silver-plated, wood, and macramé jewelry all benefit from being kept dry to ensure their longevity.

Will brass jewelry leave a green mark on my skin?

Brass can sometimes leave a greenish tint on skin, especially if exposed to moisture. This reaction is harmless and can be minimized by keeping brass jewelry dry and cleaning it regularly. You can also apply a thin layer of clear nail polish to areas that contact the skin to reduce this reaction.
