Extremely practical: the detachable shoulder strap!
Cork is harvested from the bark of the cork oak tree. No trees need to be felled for cork production; the cork oak is simply stripped of its bark. This stripping has no negative impact on the natural development of the cork oak. A cork tree is first stripped at the age of 25. The bark then regenerates naturally and is only harvested every 9 years, up to a total of 17 times.
We chose cork fabric as a vegan leather alternative. Cork fabric feels velvety soft. Its texture is comparable to supple suede. Due to the natural grain of the cork bark, each piece is unique. Cork fabric is also robust, water-repellent, odorless, hypoallergenic, and easy to care for. It can be cleaned with a clean cloth, a little mild soap, and water. A light wipe is usually sufficient. For more stubborn stains, the cork used in our vegan bags and wallets can also be gently hand-washed.
