The Balearic islanders were some of the best slingers in the ancient world. They had legendary accuracy and were trained from childhood. This sling is styled after their slings. This sling is special in that the cord lengths are set up, so you hook the retention cord over your index or first finger and grip the release cord in your palm. This goes along with the more traditional way of throwing. Also, they had to hold larger and heavier ammo because these were used for artillery and volley fire in ancient warfare.
These slings come in two thicknesses. The 10-strand and the 25-strand. The number represents the number of cords at the start of the braiding process. Then, it will be folded over and woven into a 5-strand braid that is either 20 or 50 strings thick. The 10-strand is easier to use, but the 25-strand is more accurate to historical slings.
Release Cord Grip Style
Traditional Grip. This is the traditional Balearic sling style of hold, Where the end toggle goes at the base of your hand, and you use your entire fist to hold the sling. With this release cord orientation, you will also hook the retention loop over your Index finger.
Pinch Grip. Which is a more modern hold. With the finger loop of the sling over your middle finger. The End Toggle is pinched between the thumb and index finger.
I make these slings 26-27 inches to the pouch, for an overall length of around 52-54 inches on a pinch grip or 55-57 inches on a traditional grip. Let me know if you would like yours to be longer or shorter.
The 25-strand Sling is 7/8th of an inch wide at its thickest point and tapers to around 1/2 an inch. It is 1/2 of an inch thick, tapering to 1/4 of an inch.
The 10-strand sling is around 1/2 an inch at its wide and tapers down to 3/8 of an inch at its thinnest point. It is 1/4 inch thick, tapering to 1/8 at the release knot.

Why you should buy from me:
I have been making slings for 2 decades. And have sold thousands of slings. I have made slings in over 30 different styles. From all this experience, I have chosen the styles of slings that work best and consistently perform. I have specific requirements for a good sling: ease of carrying, durability, look, feel, and lastly, "wow factor." My slings are shipped fresh and crisp. After the new owner gets a few sessions of slinging in with them, they break in and conform to the thrower's hand and style.
I know what fun slinging can be, and that is why I have a sling on me at all times. Sometimes, this requires a minimal sling around my wrist or in a chest pocket. Sometimes, I replace my belt with a thick, sturdy sling. Other times, I throw one in my back pocket. I have a sling in every backpack and almost every jacket. I carry my water bottle with one. Once you get a sling, I am confident you will find more uses and reasons to have one. It is also a fun activity to do with friends.
