So… imagine my surprise when, after a lifelong search, I found and married the love of my life at the ripe old age of 60 — only to discover “The Basement!” Shortly after the wedding he mentioned that, carefully packed and stored beneath his hundred-year-old Craftsman house, was a treasure trove. He and his late wife had spent years traveling, searching and collecting in pursuit of their shared dream of opening an antique store. They never got around to opening that store but, judging by that basement, they certainly could have!
As a museum executive, a history buff — and, yes, a fellow collector — I set about the task of opening those basement doors, freeing those wonderful vintage treasures from storage and sending them back out into the world.
That is what you’ll find in the Boudreau Collection (along with some antiques of my own) as I endeavor to combine the households of two lifelong collectors. The task has proven to be both daunting and a great deal of fun. Please take a look!
