When I was but a wee guppy, my friends came over and asked what I wanted to do. I always answered, "Hey, let's make stuff!" I have never outgrown that.
Years later in my adult life I still want to inspire as much awe and wonder in others as I possibly can.
A walk in the woods or through the back streets of a city is a full on treasure hunt for me. Found objects represent the treasure/raw craft supplies that I use to make into new treasures.
Making things from found objects is an alchemical process that not only transforms the found objects into something beautiful and functional, but a transformation also occurs in the spirit of the receiver and the maker. The maker discovers new ways to make wondrous things out of common materials, which delights the spirit. The receiver sees the familiar "ordinary" object and marvels at its new extraordinary use.
Each item immediately becomes a conversation piece.
