Welcome to Backwoods Design MT! Custom made, high quality items. MADE IN THE USA

We are a husband and wife team who decided to turn our hobbies into our family business. With the husbands love for making stuff out of metal and the wife's love of all things artsy crafty, we think we came up with some pretty cool items! Uniquely handmade in the USA!

We make custom wood signs and plaques using a CO2 laser machine. The wood we use is sourced from our 22 acres in the Big Belt Mountains of Montana and surrounding forest. We hand pick the pine and fir trees ourselves! Each item is carefully engraved, sanded, hand painted and stained.

Our metal art and signs are created using a CNC plasma machine. We use an Oxy-Acetylene torch to create the colors and textures of our custom flame art. Each item is then powder coated clear to protect the finish for indoor or outdoor use. We have many other powder coat colors and textures available as well.
