Original Wood Intarsia Patterns for Makers
ChipilPatterns is my dedicated digital pattern shop for wood intarsia makers. I’m Serhan, the designer behind ChipilPatterns and the maker behind ChipilWood, my small woodworking workshop in Ankara, Türkiye.
My background is in engineering, but over the years woodworking gradually became the work I most wanted to do. Designing a pattern and then actually building it in wood taught me that a good intarsia pattern needs more than an attractive drawing. The shapes need to make sense, the individual pieces need to work together, and the finished project needs to be enjoyable to create.
Every pattern in this shop is individually drawn, refined and prepared by me with real woodworking and intarsia experience in mind. I focus on clear shapes, practical part divisions, visual balance and clean fine line artwork that translates naturally from a drawing into wood.
My patterns include numbered layouts, suggested grain direction markings and individual parts arranged on separate pages to make workshop preparation easier. A scroll saw can be used to cut the individual pieces, but the designs themselves are created primarily for wood intarsia.
Each listing clearly explains what is included in the downloadable PDF and shows the design before purchase.
I also run ChipilWood on Etsy, where I create handcrafted wood art and finished intarsia pieces. Keeping the digital pattern collection in its own shop allows me to keep both sides of my work focused while maintaining the same design approach and attention to detail.
