Handcrafted and lifelike paper flowers, a love story that’s getting stronger every day!
Since I was a little girl I enjoyed nature and flowers, I loved to paint and draw, so I went to Art School and studied painting, majored in Fashion Design and spent most of my youth being a fashion designer. I discovered paper flowers in 2012. Since then I became fascinated with this idea and had the instant thought that I can make beautiful paper flowers. I had this feeling that I needed to do something else with my life, to find a way of expressing my artistic vision.
I learned the techniques of making paper flowers by myself, I wanted to have my own style and became a paper artist!
My paper flowers are well built, strong and I dare to say, can last forever. With every flower I make I try to capture the realistic look as good as I can. I mix the paper flower techniques with my love for colors and painting and I study images with real flowers and try to figure out ways of reproducing them. I spend lots of hours researching and my flowers have an unique, distinguished look today after many years of practice.
Because crepe paper sometimes fades very quickly, I paint it so I can create lovely shades and have control of the color theme. I love mixing paints and discovering new shades all the time. I mostly work with Italian crepe paper and acrylic colors… I see this paper as my canvas and I think it’s perfect for my vision, thick and very resistant.
My creative process starts with research and study of real flowers, sketches and mood boards. After that I create and develop the techniques and practice a lot. I cut the paper free hand, using my imaginations. I don’t cut the paper using templates and because of this, every flower is unique. I spend most of the time in my home studio… it’s a lot of hard work but always so fascinating!
Enjoy the galleries on my web-site and social media networks, with lots of images… a testimony of many years of hard work and dedication.
