Je crois que nous avons tous un Soi Créatif.

C’est câblé à l’intérieur de nous et ce qui nous rend uniquement humains.

Et tout comme bouger notre corps, manger des aliments nourrissants et travailler avec un thérapeute, notre Moi Créatif a également besoin d’être nourri.

J’ai toujours été créative, mais depuis que je suis tombée dans le trou du lapin après la naissance de mon premier enfant, un feu a été allumé en moi et je me suis donné pour mission d’activer le potentiel que je pouvais ressentir en moi depuis.

J’ai grandi avec une grand-tante qui était une aquarelliste prolifique. La conséquence involontaire de voir son travail incroyable partout dans mon enfance était la suivante: je pensais que vous étiez censé comprendre dans quoi vous êtes bon, et le faire pour toujours et à jamais (et à jamais).

J’avais tellement de honte de ne pas pouvoir le faire, et quand j’ai entendu Marie Forleo se dire multi-passionnée, quelque chose en moi a changé. Cela m’a donné la permission d’évoluer et de changer. Cela m’a donné l’impression que tout le monde est le bienvenu et précieux, et je ne me sentais plus brisé ou indigne d’être un « grand artiste A ».

Je suis complètement autodidacte dans tout ce que je fais (je n’ai même jamais pris un seul cours d’art à l’université! Haleter! Comment?!). Et maintenant, j’ai laissé ma curiosité mener, ayant ENFIN embrassé mon incapacité à rester intéressé par une chose pour toujours.

Voici donc ce que cette boutique Etsy est pour moi: un endroit pour incarner cette connaissance et partager mon travail alors que je me dirige vers ce qui me semble vivant. Rester aligné avec mon Moi Créatif et honorer l’inspiration est une combinaison magique qui peut sembler différente à chaque fois.

Ici, dans ma boutique, vous trouverez de l’art pour élever et inspirer, qui se sentait vivant et qui voulait venir à travers moi (et sur vous!). Chaque pièce a une histoire et je partage ces moments d’étincelle dans les descriptions.

I believe we all have a Creative Self.

It’s hardwired inside us and what makes us uniquely human.

And just like moving our bodies, eating nourishing food, and working with a therapist, our Creative Selves need nurturing too.

I’ve always been creative, but since falling down the hand lettering rabbit hole after my first child was born, a fire was lit inside me and I’ve been on a mission to activate the potential I could feel inside me ever since.

I grew up with a great-aunt that was a prolific watercolor artist. The unintended consequence of seeing her incredible work everywhere in my childhood was this: I thought you were supposed to figure out what you’re good at, and do it forever and ever (and ever).

I used to carry so much shame over not being able to do that, and when I heard Marie Forleo call herself a multi-passionate, something in me shifted. It gave me permission to evolve and change. It made me feel like all of me is welcome and valuable, and I no longer felt broken or unworthy of being a ‘big A artist.’

I’m completely self taught in all that I do (I never even took a single art class in college! Gasp! How?!). And now I let my curiosity lead, having FINALLY embraced my inability to stay interested in one thing forever.

So this is what this Etsy shop is to me: A place to embody this knowing and share my work as I move towards what feels alive. Staying aligned with my Creative Self and honoring inspiration is a magical combination that can look different every time.
