Our goal is to bring you high quality, affordable and long lasting handmade pieces. That is why we are slowly moving away from the mostly brass, copper, and nickel metals and incorporating more sterling silver, stainless steel or gold filled pieces.

The jewelry items you tend to see in most stores are labeled as Gold or Silver plated, maybe even 14k or 24k gold plated. They tend not to disclose what metal is at its core underneath the plating. This core metal tends to be copper, brass, or nickel. Now, are these metals bad? No, not at all. All this means is, number one: People with sensitive skin, allergies/sensitivities to certain metals, etc may not be able to wear copper, brass, or nickel. Number two: the plated metal is typically a very thin layer and may chip off which leads to number three: if it does chip off the copper, brass, or nickel touching your skin may cause your skin to become discolored (not harmful but can be annoying). Lastly, number four: this plated copper, brass, and nickel jewelry is very inexpensive to make, which is great for people who don't have much to spend on jewelry, but tends not to be as long lasting.

Why Stainless Steel, Silver Plated Stainless Steel, or Gold Plated Stainless Steel
Instead of silver/gold plated brass, copper, or nickel?
Stainless Steel Is extremely durable, does not tarnish, won't discolor skin, water proof, and hypoallergenic while also being very affordable. Great Quality for a great price!

Why Gold Plated Sterling Silver or Sterling Silver instead of silver/gold plated brass, copper, or nickel?
Sterling Silver tends to be much more long lasting and durable than plated brass or copper. If you are looking for something longer lasting, higher end, but in a mid level/affordable price range I would suggest Gold Plated Sterling Silver or Sterling Silver. Most are stamped with .925
Sterling Silver may tarnish but can typically be polished up with a microfiber cloth.

Why Gold Filled instead of Gold Plated metals?
Gold filled is for people who like the higher end solid gold jewelry, but not the price tag.
Gold Filled has 100x more gold ally than plated pieces, which is pressure bonded to the base metal which makes it much stronger/more durable than plated. Since it is much thicker and specially pressure bonded to the base metal, this means it will last longer and stand up to wear and tear. Gold Filled is tarnish resistant, water resistant and long lasting. But is much more affordable as opposed to solid gold pieces.
