How Festive Fish Designs Came to Be
Thank you so much for visiting my shop, Holiday Expressions Co. I have an immense passion for holidays – yes, I genuinely LOVE them. You see, my journey led me through some challenging times. For over 15 years, I was a single mom after leaving an abusive marriage. I still thank the Lord to this day that with my then 1.5-year-old daughter while I was pregnant with my second, I was able to escape.
Life was undeniably tough at times, but I soon discovered that holidays provided a welcomed "escape" for my daughters and me. They became our refuge, a chance to break away from the ordinary and simply have FUN! I looked forward to each upcoming holiday and national observance (that made sense), as they became opportunities for us to have fun, be silly, and create joy in our lives. Yes, I even baked cupcakes resembling Groundhogs and watched the Groundhog Day movie starring Bill Murray with my kids every year. My kids cherished those moments, and so did I. Some of their most favorite memories are from those holidays we celebrated together!
Now, my daughters are nearly grown, and I've embarked on a new chapter with a loving remarriage. Today, I have 6 kids in the home (9 kids total) to share these holiday joys with, including two delightful 7-year-old twin girls we've had the privilege of getting Guardianship of. It's like starting anew, and I'm thrilled to introduce them to the incredible world of holidays, sprinkling that same joy and magic into their lives that my girls experienced growing up.
My goal with Holiday Expressions is to create some Holiday Magic for you and your family as well as mine. Yes, even for Groundhogs Day!
