Ginger Andro et Chuck Glicksman travaillent en équipe d’artistes et fabriquent et exposent des dollars « Commodify or Die » depuis plus de 10 ans. Ces œuvres d’art uniques faites de plexiglas gravé à la main, de feuilles d’aluminium italiennes et de collage de photos sur papier constituent un excellent ajout à toute collection d’art et peuvent être facilement exposées sur les murs et les tables.
La marchandisation ou les dollars de matrice utilisent une technique appelée verre eglomise, le processus Français ancien et traditionnel de dorure inversée du verre. Chaque œuvre est dimensionnée et gravée à la main dans le motif d’un dollar américain. Ensuite, l’œuvre est dorée à l’aluminium italien, créant une surface réfléchissante pour capturer le spectateur dans le champ portrait de l’affiche. Soutenu par des images imprimées qui interrogent de manière ludique la question de savoir comment la valeur est faite, chaque dollar est frappé avec un artisanat exquis et espiègle.
Les dollars de marchandisation ou de matrice sont tous prêts à accrocher et peuvent éventuellement être encadrés. These unique artworks made of hand engraved plexi-glass, Italian aluminum leaf, and photo collage on paper make an excellent addition to any art collection and can be easily displayed on walls and tabletops.
Commodify or Die dollars use a technique called verre eglomise, the ancient and traditional French process of reverse glass gilding. Each artwork is sized and hand-engraved in the pattern of a US dollar. Then the work is gilt with Italian aluminum, creating a reflective surface to capture the viewer in the bill’s portrait field. Backed with printed images that playfully interrogate the question of how value is made, every buck is minted with exquisite and mischievous craft.
Commodify or Die dollars all come hang ready and optionally can be framed.
