Plain spreadsheets for self-employed money
I started Keelsheet because the money side of being self-employed is mostly spreadsheets, and most tax templates I found were either too vague to trust or too clever to follow.
Keelsheet templates are built for US freelancers, 1099 contractors and sole proprietors. The first two are a Quarterly Estimated Tax Calculator and a Schedule C Bookkeeping Ledger. They work in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, and your numbers stay in your own file.
How I build them:
- Every tax rate and limit is cited to an IRS.gov source inside the workbook, with the date it was checked.
- The math is shown step by step in plain cells, so you can follow it or hand it to your preparer.
- Each file says clearly what it does not cover, so you know when to talk to a professional.
- No fake reviews, no inflated sales counts, no subscription needed to use what you buy.
What Keelsheet is not: a CPA firm, a law firm or a government agency. The templates are organizing and estimating tools, not tax advice. They use 2026 IRS figures, and you should confirm your numbers with a tax professional.
