Eco-Friendly Crochet Design: Turning Textile Waste into Modern Home Decor
Hi all!
My name is Ana, graduated in fine arts, free lancer decorator and a crochet designer maker.
I’ve been crocheting ever since I was a little girl! My maternal grandmother taught me all sorts of crafts during the summer school holidays when I was a little girl (I cherish all these happy childhood memories).
I rediscovered my love for crochet when I started working as a home decorator, and I absolutely fell in love with how crochet pieces make such a difference in the ambience of your home, adding coziness, texture and personality to every corner, highlighting your particular style.
Since 2013, my mission has been to prove that high-end design and environmental responsibility can go hand-in-hand.
Our Commitment: Healing the Planet, One Stitch at a Time
The fashion and textile industry is one of the most polluting in the world, generating tons of waste every second. At Looping Home, we choose a different path. We specialize in "upcycling" by using CottonXL - premium yarns made entirely from recycled textile surpluses from the Portuguese industry.
By choosing our pieces, you are:
- Reducing Waste: We give a second life to high-quality fabric leftovers that would otherwise end up in landfills.
- Saving Resources: Our recycled yarns don't require new cotton crops, massive water consumption, or harmful chemical dyes, significantly lowering the carbon footprint of your home decor.
- Choosing Durability: Recycled doesn't mean fragile. Our materials are sturdy, machine-washable, and designed to last a lifetime, fighting the "fast fashion" culture.
Modern Design with a Soul:
Inspired by Scandinavian minimalism, my work combines these sustainable materials with innovative crochet stitches techniques. Every pieces from ottomans, rugs, or baskets are designed to be functional, stylish, and unique.
A Family-Made Legacy:
Looping Home is a small family business, and the name also represents the tender bonds of teamwork with my beloved mother. I am responsible for the crocheted pieces, and my mother, an experienced seamstress and pattern maker in the fashion industry, now retired, is the professional responsible for the fabric products.
From our home to yours, everything is handmade with love, care, and deep respect for nature.
Global Reach, Personal Touch:
Based in Portugal, I am proud to see my work traveling across the globe. I value transparency and communication, treating every customer as a friend. Your feedback drives my progress, and knowing my creations bring joy to your home is what keeps me inspired.
Thank you for choosing handmade and helping us close the loop for a greener future.
Stay cozy and sustainable,
Ana
