Mother/Daughter Duo with skin sensitivies.
ShadeSuits began with a mother trying to protect her water-loving daughter who has albinism and wanted to play at the pool and beach for hours. Those with fair skin or albinism are especially vulnerable to sun damage, however we realized all skin types are susceptible to skin cancer and the damage caused by sun exposure; plus, there are many people with allergies or sensitivities to the sun. Everyone should be able to enjoy the outdoors and worry less about getting sunburned. Our upcoming Flora & Fauna line will include a boys line, a women's line, with several styles made with material created from Repreve, a polyester made from recycled water bottles. We believe it is important to conserve water resources, and to reduce the carbon footprint. We produce limited quantities, which reduces waste and supports sustainable business practices. Many of our accessories are made with leftover material, so that there is little waste.
In addition, ShadeSuits supports NOAH, the National Organization for Albinism and Hypopigmentation, which provides education, awareness, and support for people with albinism as well as to their families. For every purchase you make, we are dedicating 1% of net profits to help support NOAH's mission.
