How I became a paper cutting artist
I first started paper cutting out of curiosity, after coming across a few really cool paper cutting pieces that made me want to give it a go (I will forever be grateful to Hari and Deepti for leading me to discover shadow boxes!). After a few tries at "regular" paper cutting, I quickly gravitated towards shadow boxes, since playing with depth, shadows and light was particularly appealing to me.
Over time, I learned a lot and developed my skills, and not just strictly related to paper cutting art. I learned how to make a frame, how to paint it properly, how to solder, how to use LEDs, how to cut glass... Skills I never imagined I would learn, but all stemming from the same place: the desire to make the best possible shadow boxes.
This has all led to what you see here! Each item in my shop is a unique, handcrafted piece. Every step of the making process (the design, cutting, framing, lighting, etc.) is meticulously handmade by me, and each piece is the result of long hours of research, work, and of course, passion!
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about my work, or if you would like to commission your own box! And if you're interested in the creation process, head over to my YouTube channel (link below), where I regularly post videos showing the making of each box.
And now, back to my cutting board!
