Threadsower surgió de mi interés en el punto de cruz y mi impulso para crear los tipos de patrones que quería coser. Me inspiran los cuentos populares, los samplers antiguos, la costura de estilo antiguo y una paleta de colores muy simple.
En tantos cuentos populares el mensaje se lleva a casa: cosechamos lo que sembramos y creamos resultados con nuestras acciones, por pequeñas que sean. La costura, para mí, es un proceso meditativo donde el más simple de los materiales, una aguja y un hilo, puede convertirse en una hermosa obra de arte en las manos de cualquiera. Quiero crear patrones que traigan un poco de la magia y el misterio que los viejos cuentos encarnan en la vida de quienes los cosen. ¡Espero que disfrutes cosiendo estos patrones tanto como yo he disfrutado creándolos!
Threadsower came about from my interest in cross stitch and my drive to create the kinds of patterns I wanted to stitch. I am inspired by folktales, antique samplers, old style needlework and a very simple colour palette.
In so many folktales the message is driven home: we reap what we sow and we create results with our actions, however small. Stitching, to me, is a meditative process where the simplest of materials, a needle and thread, can become a beautiful piece of art at anyone's hands. I want to create patterns that bring a bit of the magic and mystery that the old tales embody into the lives of those who stitch them. I hope you will enjoy stitching these patterns as much as I have enjoyed creating them!
