Hi, my name is Melina Benetton and together with my husband Nicolas Dorosz we created a start-up called Volver Upcycling. We are both from Argentina and live in Rovereto, a small city in the Italian Alps. I am an architect by profession and Nicolas is an artist (www.battistinibenetton.it and www.nicolasdorosz.com).
We used to complain about routine and pollution and many other life issues until one summer evening, while we were sitting in our favorite bar sipping a beer, we decided to change what we didn't like in our lives. It was as easy as that. We agreed on a simple rule: We will do things in a way that respects people and their time. At the beginning it was not easy but the satisfaction of the end result made it worthwhile. It took us about a year to decide how to manufacture and learn how to do it correctly, using the age-old technology of Italian crafts. This process makes a big difference in the end product.
