Ink and Ocean design studios

I started Ink and Ocean design studios as an extension of my greeting card business. You will find lots of printable items here, making them very accessible and affordable for a worldwide audience! I have also recently added some printed items too.
I start off a design by jotting down a few ideas in my little notebook, which I keep at my bedside table because you always seem to get that great idea in the middle of the night! The scribbled ideas turn in to sketches or little paintings, I then apply these ideas to my drawing software program to create the design.
Inspiration comes from anything and everything. It could be a cockney slang word that gets used a lot here in London or the vibrant colours in vintage pottery and fabrics from the local car boot sale. Or even the beautiful calligraphy from my Islamic heritage.
I don't have much spare time, so leisure pursuits usually involve the family. My personal obsession is learning about ancient artefacts. I am currently studying Archaeology and can get very excited about bits of old broken pottery. I enjoy spending the day at the British Museum which always leaves me feeling creative.
