Inspired by the supposed bad omens of certain insects, the bright colors of poisonous animals, and the successful predators of the arthropod world, Warning Signs is a modern, Quaker-inspired cross stitch sampler containing several yellow, gray, and black arthropods alongside skull and skeleton motifs.
The animals featured include:
Golden-ringed dragonfly (Cordulgaster boltonii)
Wasp spider orb weaver (Argiope bruennichi)
Cicada killer (Sphecius speciosus)
American carrion beelte (Necrophila americana)
American burying beetle (Nicrophorus americanus)
Death's-head hawkmoth (Acherontia spp.)
