What size terrain should I purchase?

Miniature terrain comes in different scales. The average size of things can change depending on the game being played. In general, the tabletop standard has moved to 28mm scale, so that is a great starting place for most games. If you aren't sure, please feel free to reach out and we are happy to help.

Our 3D printers are high-end, professional grade units designed to create beautiful finished pieces that will rival any cast terrain you may be used to in quality. These pieces arrive ready to play, requiring no clean-up or filing. Additionally, using 3D printers allows us to carry a gigantic range of product that would simply not be possible using traditional miniature casting techniques. Our products are all made-to-order, making sure your table can look unique to you and match the specific aesthetic of your army, landscape, or campaign. Concerned about the quality? We stand behind our products including the look and feel of them 100%. In the rare case that you receive your order and you’re unhappy with it, please reach out.

Our items arrive unpainted, but fully constructed in most cases. In the case that you do wish to paint them, simply follow the process you’d follow for any other miniatures painting project. Be sure to prime your terrain first, and then paint with your preferred brand of acrylic paints. Many painters opt for craft store brushes and paints instead of dedicated “miniature” paints for their terrain as you’ll need to cover a much larger area, and won’t have to worry about fine details as much as you do with a miniature soldier or the like. We find the best way to get a large terrain project to a great tabletop standard is to apply your basecoats with a large brush, and then do some drybrush work – you’d be surprised with the quality!

The Vortex is a sleek, powerful gunship, perfect for 28/32mm scale tabletop games. With a detailed interior, functioning windows and doors, the Vortex is can work with a variety of different game systems or just as a nice-looking model kit! The interior has sections for crew, as well as a small cargo hold for longer trips. As with the other ships in this collection, the window-frame pieces are printed in a strong orange color to give the cockpit a stylish look.

This model, being modular, does take assembly. Using the instructions provided at the link below, we do not think the model is particularly complicated. Every part is designed to hold together with the provided clips, and wont need glue to stay in once piece. All of the vehicles in the Outpost Origins collection are modular, and able to be mixed-and-matched into new designs as desired.
