You have the option of making the mug rug and/or the patchwork cow blocks in both 6” and 12” sizes. The pattern is suitable for experienced patchers as it contains quite a few pieces. However, once the cutting is done, the block goes together fairly quickly and the colour diagrams will guide you every step of the way.

The functional mug rug uses the 6” patchwork cow block with the addition of quick-fuse scallop borders to create a pretty frame for the block. You could of course, substitute any 6” block as the main focus of the mug rug making this a versatile and economical pattern to add to your library.

I am currently putting together and sewing the Patchwork Cow block for a baby quilt (12" block). I am so happy with the directions. They are very clear, easy to follow, and I like that she gives the dimension of each section. After this quilt I'll be making a 2nd. Every time I cut or sew I am thinking that I need to leave a great review. I am a happy quilter. (Note: you can even switch the direction that the cow faces, just take your time on reversals.) I hope I'm able to post a picture when I'm done.
