A whole section....about me? Hrumph- well I read my magazines from the back first and I prefer to eat sandwiches with a fork. I also never drink anything when I eat and I'm a terrible speller or just a fast typer. I'm not sure that's what they meant for this section but now you know. As far as the new Etsy guidelines that allow the use of manufacturers- please know that I am on my own. All of my items are made by me except for the few that are sourced locally and then customized by me. The designs are by me. The work is by me. The packing and shipping department- all me. I do not outsource my work and my only hirelings are my family when things get busy.

Why are you doing all of this cool stuff?
Are you kidding? It's fun to make new things and personalize items for folks. Also- the shop is what funds the majority of my son's autism therapy. I love hearing the stories about the smiles something personalized can bring and I try to make every new mom cry when she gets a custom baby block.

What about the environment and stuff?
Well my custom wood products are verified sustainably sourced. I shop locally where i can and my studio is 100% wind powered. A percentage of my sales goes towards autism awareness and aceptance through organizations like Elijah's Retreat, NAA-NT, and FEAT-NT. The rest seems to go towards autism therapy for my son. I may not be a giant mutli-unit conglomerate international organization but I can promise to do my best to come up with creative and fun products that bring a smile!

Customizing for Special Needs:
I do work with special needs requests such as larger fonts for low vision, adding Braille where requested, and adjusting the size and shape of items to target the need- just ask and I can set up a custom listing for your request. Many of my Montessori items are used in Autism therapy. The high contrast and lack of colors can actually help to maintain focus on the task. Ask how you can modify a product for the goal you are working on!

My love of engineering and for all things technical and fun hopefully come out in my product ideas and I love having a problem to solve-- so keep them coming! Just wait until I add batteries!
