Bark for joy!
I grew up a dog person (we typically had three in the household at any given time) and always loved drawing cartoons - especially of dogs!
While working for a non-profit cancer center, I was introduced to polymer clay sculpture via a wonderful program called "Bottles of Hope," where volunteers decorated glass chemotherapy vials as gifts for patients, transforming something scary into something beautiful and hopeful. Naturally, I started making cartoon figures - especially dogs! And in-between workshops I began experimenting, making more and more dogs in different breeds - and "Hounds of Hope" was born.
Each "Hounds" figurine is built around a small glass bottle - like a medicine vial - symbolizing the medical care many rescued dogs need on their paths to forever homes.
Dogs bring so much joy to our lives - what I love the most about this "hobby gone wild" is hearing dog stories from customers from around the world - sometimes funny, always touching. Creating a custom figurine that captures the spirit of a favorite dog in a 3D cartoon character is so much fun, it's hard to describe!
