This Privacy Policy describes how Scripted Hours ("I", "me", "my", or "the Shop") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you purchase from my shop, contact me, or otherwise use my services through Etsy.
This policy applies only to personal information I process as an Etsy seller. Etsy is an independent data controller for information it collects directly through its platform. You can review Etsy’s Privacy Policy for more information about how Etsy handles your data.
1. Personal Information I Collect
When you place an order or contact me through Etsy, Etsy provides certain information necessary to complete your transaction. This may include your name, email address, shipping address, phone number (if provided), order details (items purchased, personalization information, order notes), messages sent through Etsy, and delivery status information.
I do not receive or store your full payment card details. Payments are processed securely by Etsy and its payment providers. I only receive confirmation that payment has been completed and limited transaction details necessary to fulfill your order.
2. Why I Use Your Information
A. To Fulfill Your Order
I use your information to process and ship your purchase, communicate with you regarding your order, provide customer support, and handle cancellations, returns, or order issues.
B. To Comply with Legal Obligations
I maintain accounting and tax records and respond to lawful requests by authorities when legally required.
C. To Protect My Business
I use information to prevent fraud or misuse, resolve disputes, and enforce shop policies.
I do not use buyer information for unsolicited marketing or promotional messages. Etsy prohibits such use, and I fully comply with this requirement.
3. Legal Bases for Processing (EU/EEA/UK/Swiss Buyers – GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union, European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, I process your personal information under the following legal bases:
Contractual necessity: To fulfill your order, process payment confirmation, and provide customer support.
Legal obligation: To comply with tax, accounting, or other legal requirements applicable to my business.
Legitimate interests: To prevent fraud, ensure platform security, and manage my business operations. My legitimate interests in preventing fraudulent transactions and maintaining secure operations are proportionate and do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms. 4. Information Sharing
I only share your personal information when necessary to operate my shop and fulfill orders:
Etsy: Information is shared with Etsy as required to provide my services and comply with Etsy’s policies.
Service Providers: I may share necessary information with trusted third parties strictly for operational purposes, such as postal carriers and shipping providers, label printing or shipping platforms, and accounting or bookkeeping services. These providers receive only the information necessary to perform their services and are not permitted to use it for any other purpose.
Legal Requirements: I may disclose information if required by law or legal process, or if necessary to protect my rights or prevent illegal activity.
I do not sell, trade, or rent personal information to third parties.
5. Data Retention
I retain personal information only as long as necessary to provide my services, comply with tax and accounting obligations, and resolve disputes. Order and transaction records are generally retained for up to 7 years to comply with tax and recordkeeping requirements. After that period, data is securely deleted or anonymized.
6. International Transfers (EU Buyers)
If you are located in the EU/EEA/UK/Switzerland and your information is processed outside your country of residence, such transfers may occur because I am located in the United States. Where required by applicable data protection law, I take appropriate steps to ensure your data is protected.
7. Your Rights (EU/EEA/UK/Swiss Buyers)
If you are located in the EU/EEA/UK/Switzerland, you may have the right to access the personal information I hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your personal data (where legally permitted), object to or restrict certain processing, and request a copy of your data (data portability).

8. California Residents – Your Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) give you specific rights regarding your personal information.

In the past 12 months, I have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (name, email address, shipping address), commercial information (order details, purchase history), and internet or other electronic network activity (messages sent through Etsy). I collect this information directly from you and from Etsy in connection with your purchases.
Your California Rights
Right to Know: You have the right to request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information I have collected about you, the categories of sources, the purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties with whom I share information.
Right to Delete: You have the right to request deletion of personal information I have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions (such as legal recordkeeping obligations).
Right to Correct: You have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal information.
Right to Non-Discrimination: I will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.
No Sale or Sharing of Personal Information
I do not sell personal information, and I do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes. Because I do not sell or share personal information in these ways, no opt-out mechanism is required.
Submitting a Request
To submit a CCPA rights request, contact me at scriptedhours@gmail.com. I will respond within 45 days. I may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.
9. Children’s Privacy
My shop and services are not directed to children under the age of 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided me with personal information, please contact me at scriptedhours@gmail.com and I will promptly delete that information.
Visitors between the ages of 13 and 17 should use my shop only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian.
10. Security
I take reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include using secure, reputable shipping and accounting platforms, limiting access to personal information to what is necessary to fulfill your order, and promptly deleting data that is no longer needed.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While I strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, I cannot guarantee its absolute security. Etsy also maintains its own security measures for its platform, which you can review in Etsy’s Privacy Policy.
In the event of a data breach that is likely to affect your rights and freedoms, I will notify affected individuals and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
