Nací y crecí en el área metropolitana de Portland, y he vivido aquí toda mi vida, con la excepción de dos años demasiado agitados en Hollywood hace unos 20 años.

Tengo varios años de entrenamiento formal en diseño y bellas artes, pero gran parte de lo que sé y uso a diario se ha aprendido a través del estudio independiente, y en mi libro esa es realmente la mejor manera de aprender. Mi trabajo está fuertemente influenciado por muchos de los movimientos artísticos del siglo XX, especialmente Mid-Century Modern (MCM), pero también matices de Art Deco / Streamline Moderne, y un poco ocasional de Art Nouveau. Encuentro inspiración por todas partes: arquitectura, historia, música, libros, películas, pero estoy especialmente fascinado por toneladas de elementos culturales fuera de lo común de la Americana vintage: tiki, pinups, espectáculos burlescos, espectáculos secundarios, cabezas encogidas, cine negro, películas de autocine, autos clásicos y trailers, smut vintage, películas de terror clásicas, letreros antiguos, atracciones extrañas al borde de la carretera y similares. Esto hace que mi trabajo sea atractivo para muchos entusiastas y retrófilos vintage, así como para aquellos de la persuasión del rock-n-roll.

I was born and raised in the Portland metropolitan area, and have lived here my whole life with the exception of two overly eventful years in Hollywood about 20 years ago.

I have several years of formal design and fine art training, but much of what I know and use daily has been learned through independent study, and in my book that really is the best way to learn. I've been doing graphic design since 1996, and was a full-time freelancer from 2007 to about 2017. I was sidelined for a few years by a seemingly endless series of personal set backs, but I've spent the past year putting things back together behind the scenes. Now I'm stepping out there again with a new perspective on life, and looking for new adventures both professionally and personally.

My work is strongly influenced by many of the art movements of the twentieth century, especially Mid-Century Modern (MCM), but also shades of Art Deco/Streamline Moderne, and an occasional bit of Art Nouveau. I find inspiration all over the place—architecture, history, music, books, movies, but I'm especially fascinated by tons of off-beat cultural elements of vintage Americana: tiki, pinups, burlesque shows, side shows, shrunken heads, film noir, drive-in movies, classic cars & trailers, vintage smut, classic horror flicks, old signs, weird roadside attractions and the like. This makes my work appealing to many vintage enthusiasts and retrophiles as well as those of the rock-n-roll persuasion.
