My Story
My Love affair with jewellery started very young, growing up in South Africa, I was exposed to bright and beautiful glass beads, which you could buy from the veggie store for 20c a packet, I made myself many strings of necklaces and bracelets which were permanently on until school came around again. I also loved playing with my mothers and grandmothers jewellery boxes, and making jewellery for my Barbie dolls.
Once we moved to Australia, I became obsessed with rocks and crystals and at age 14 had a rather large collection and I thought I wanted to be a geologist, which would never have satisfied my desire to use my hands to create, which is how I ended up in jewellery, as soon as school was out, I had got the job that would give me most of the skills I needed.
I really felt that, in those early weeks, this was it, I was home, I felt like I had done this in many lives previous and that is why this skill was so natural to me.
I think I love what I do even more now, as working for yourself is a creative's dream, and the visions are endless.
Starting out on my own was one of the hardest things to do, the fear is real, what if I can't make this into a living? so every sale I make I appreciate, as this is what enables me to do what I love, it is a huge rush knowing people love what you do, and it is a very humbling warm and fuzzy feeling.
