Our gorgeous bird feeders, every one completely unique. Designed and individually handmade by The Natural Wood Company.

Turned on a lathe from a single piece of English Oak, the top and bottom sections can be separated as they are held together by a concealed large stainless steel screw thread in the central spindle, this aids filling and cleaning, although re filling can also easily be done whilst fully assembled by using the feeder like a scoop and scooping the seed straight from the bag. The feeder is protected from the elements by 4 coats of high-quality satin acrylic lacquer then burnished to a smooth gloss finish, so can stay outside in all weathers all year round.

Simple in its design, the bottom half acts as a deep seed trough, and the slightly larger top as a shelter, to help keep the weather out and seed dry, the inside of the feeder is hollowed out and the gap is designed to be wide enough to allow small birds (Blue Tits etc.) to get inside the feeder to graze at their leisure (see photo's). The feeder comes complete with a thin stainless steel hanging wire and is designed to be suspended from the stainless steel eye in the top section. Also, much to their annoyance, the feeder’s perfectly smooth round body suspended by the thin wire makes it virtually impossible for squirrels to access the seed.

For the feeder to be squirrel proof, the feeder needs to be suspended at least 14 inches (350 mm) from the nearest fixed object (branch, tree trunk or another feeder etc.).

The feeders are available in three sizes and look great hanging together as a set.

They are designed to be equally at home either as part of a busy feeding station, quietly hanging on their own in the garden under a tree or on a secluded balcony.

Small 10 cm (4 inches) round
Medium 14 cm (5.5 inches) round
Large 19 cm (7.5 inches) round

We also, occasionally make a wide medium version which is 15 cm (6 inches) round but a flatter profile.

Gift box option - If giving as a present this is what this option was designed for. The feeder will be packed in a beautiful made to measure, black box in a bed of Cream tissue. We can, if required, also add a personal handwritten note to a tag attached to the feeder inside the box if required. Then this box is enclosed in a double thickness made to measure postal box, on delivery all you have to do is remove the outer postal box and your gift is ready.
